Privacy
What this site does with your information.
Short version: this site has no cookies, no advertising trackers and no database. The only personal information it handles is what you type into the contact form, and that is sent to us as an email so we can reply to you.
Last updated 4 October 2026.
What you send us
The contact form is the only place this site asks you for anything. If you fill it in, we receive what you typed:
- Your name
- Your email address
- A working title for your book, if you give one
- The type of book, the manuscript’s current state, its approximate length and what you would like to end up with, if you choose any of those
- Which services you think you might need, if you tick any
- Whatever you write in the message box
Only the name, the email address and the message are required. Everything else is optional and the form says so. Please do not put anything confidential in the message: it reaches us as an ordinary email, which is not a secure channel. If your manuscript is sensitive, say so and we will arrange a better way to send it.
The form also contains one hidden field that is invisible to you and exists only to catch automated spam. If anything fills it in, the submission is discarded without being read.
Who else sees it
Your message is delivered to our business inbox by Resend, an email delivery service based in the United States. They handle the message in transit. Nothing you send is used for anything other than replying to you and doing the work you ask us to do.
We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not add you to a mailing list, and there is no mailing list to be added to.
If your project turns out to be poetry, we may continue the conversation from PoemsPoetry, our sister site. It is the same people and the same inbox.
What the site records on its own
Three things happen without you doing anything, and none of them identify you personally:
- Your IP address is read when you submit the form, purely to limit how many submissions can arrive from one place in a short time. It is held in memory for a few minutes and never written to a database, because there is no database.
- Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server request logs the way every web host does.
- We use Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure how quickly pages load. These set no cookies, do not follow you to other websites, and report totals rather than individuals.
A small number of events are counted alongside page views: when someone follows a link to PoemsPoetry, when someone clicks through to a retailer listing, and when an inquiry is successfully sent. These record which link was used, never who used it. Nothing you type into the form is ever sent to analytics.
Links to other sites
Book listings link out to retailers such as Amazon, and some pages link to PoemsPoetry. Once you follow one of those links you are on someone else’s website, under their privacy policy, not this one. Cantu Publishing is independent of Amazon and has no affiliation with it.
Links between Cantu Publishing and PoemsPoetry carry a tag in the address saying which page you came from, so we can tell whether that connection is useful to anyone. The tag describes the link, not you.
How long we keep things
Your inquiry stays in our email the way any business correspondence does: as long as it is useful for the project, or for our records if we end up working together. If you would like us to delete what you have sent, ask and we will.
Analytics totals are retained by Vercel on their own schedule and are not tied to you.
Asking us about your information
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a copy, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will deal with it. You do not need to cite a regulation or use any particular wording.
Depending on where you live you may have formal rights of this kind in law. We would rather simply honour the request than argue about which rules apply.
Changes to this policy
If what the site does with information changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We will not quietly broaden what we collect and leave this text saying otherwise.
Getting in touch about privacy
Questions about any of this, or a request about your own information, can go through the contact form. It reaches the same person who would answer anything else.
